The plant so called 'pitcher plant' or 'monkey cup' has grown and breed in Malaysia healthily, her botanic scientific name is Nepenthes spp. 

This plant can grown well on acidic soil, hot, humid, less nitrogen and dry low land environment. The name "monkey cups" refers to the fact that monkeys drink rainwater from these plants.

The 'cup' act like a trap which contains a fluid (kinda syrup) of the plants self production, used to drown the prey. The fluid contains very elastic bio-polymer that may be crucial to the retention of insects within the traps. 

Besides insects, prey could be a larger species such as rats and lizards or even small birds... she really Monster

Variety species (thousand) form very beautiful and attractive colors..... yet danger!!!
Heard about people cook this plant for exotic meal... nyum nyum. Wanna know more info? then ask Mr Google... :)

Stevia a.k.a sweet tea, sweet leaf of paraguay, eira-caa, sweet herb, sugar leaf is a wonderful gifted plant which contains edible, healthy, non-calorific sweetener. Its extract are proven more sweet to approx 200 times compare to conventional sugar (FROM sugar cain) - good sugar alternative.

Stevia is a amazing plant with ability to produce natural sweetener, can reduce blood sugar, lower your BP and it can kill certain bad bacterial. This herb was claim with ability to lower down your bodymass significantly.

Intan Garden did supply this herbs plant to the several schools nearby Selangor, Malaysia for education purposes.

TIPS : Wood Selection for outdoor furniture... Very Important !!! Wood with Blood?

Make sure correct type of woods are chosen for outdoor furniture especially when we talk about 'direct exposure' to the heavy climate such as super hot, cold, wet, dry and etc. Wrong selection of woods may shortened your furniture's life and definitely you'll loose numbers of dollars just for nothing.

Cengal (Emas/Batu) is most suitable wood for outdoor furniture in east asia especially Malaysia because of rot resistance (protected by it blood*). Cengal emas more sustainable compare to Cengal Batu (Balau). But you have to spend more penny to buy both type of woods, plus hard to get and off course you need to have suitable tools to handle them.

Note : *Yes.., cengal wood got kind of blood inside, some sort of 'resin' or so called 'damar' or 'penak' in Malay Language. The resin will protect any cuts surface made onto it skin or bark. The resin will harden rapidly as to protect the wood. The resin can preserve wood surface up to hundred years.

PROJECT : Porch Cengal di Cheras, KL (Local Press Agent)

Cengal Wood Porch located in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur started in June 2013 owned by En Faisal

It took us more than 3 weeks to fabricate and pre-assemble in our workshop. 2 days for insitu installation @ Cheras.

This project is purely Intan Garden's ideas and design, enhancing Malay traditional building and culture. All primary structures were made of cengal/balau, others were made of mixed hardwoods (merbau/ kempas).

This project actually need final touch up from us on accessories, but pending due to unavoided reasons. Will continue the work and complete them very soon insyaallah.

Will cost you approx RM15K to 20K depending to the type of wood chosen, size, design, carving and additional accessories.
